Mark advises middle market business owners and managers on a wide variety of strategy, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions issues and transactions.  Although a generalist as a result of his length and breadth of experience, Mark is recognized as a specialist in the Alaskan seafood industry and is regularly called on for advice on acquisitions by corporations, private equity, and family office organizations, in addition to representing owners in the sale and/or recaptalization of their businesses.  

Mark sits on company boards for Pacific Northwest companies and has been a long-time mentor for MBA students at the University of Washington.  

Mark co-founded Zachary Scott in 1991. Prior to founding Zachary Scott, Mark managed Seafirst Bank's Investment Banking Department, where he was responsible for the Bank's activities in private placements, structured financings, interest rate risk management, and mergers and acquisitions.

Mark received an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Washington and a B.S. degree from the University of California at Davis. He hosts an annual mentor group of University of Washington M.B.A. students.
